Swimming

Make a splash at a pool near you!
Whether you are looking for a leisurely lane swim or a fun splash with your little ones, we are here to provide more opportunities to swim.

Swimming provides a full body workout, with the water providing resistance, and can also contribute to a stronger heart, lower risk of diabetes, increased energy levels and lower stress levels.

Swimming Sessions

Enjoy a range of aquatic activities at our three pools, including lane swimming, fun family sessions and aqua classes.

Lane Swimming

Our pools are split into fast, medium and slow lanes so you can swim at your own pace. Swimming is a great form of exercise that keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body.

Casual Swimming

General swim sessions are also available for all ages and abilities. In these sessions there are no lanes in place so you can swim at your leisure.

Family fun sessions

Come along with the family and enjoy the fun activities available for all.

Bigsplash Aquafun at Eckington

Wet and wild fun for all the family, featuring a giant pool inflatable obstacle course. Children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult. Please note the inflatable is in deep water so those using it must be a competent swimmer and able to swim at least two lengths.

Entry tickets go on sale 30 minutes prior to the start of the session.

Swimming lessons

We run fun and engaging swimming lessons for both adults and children at Dronfield, Eckington and Clay Cross Active.

Water wellbeing at Eckington

Suitable for anyone aged 16+ years with carers welcome. The unique properties of water make swimming perfect for people of all ages to exercise, particularly those with injuries, impairments, long term health conditions, or those who struggle to exercise on land. Swimming has a positive impact on a range of physical and mental health conditions including dementia, obesity, cancer, cerebral palsy, and pulmonary disease. This instructor-led session can be tailored to your needs or you can be left alone to just enjoy the water. Contact Reception for more information or book online.

Aquaphobia

Available at Dronfield and Eckington, the Aquaphobia Learning Programme is open to all and consists of 12 steps aimed at helping people to manage their fear of water, becoming comfortable in, and around it.

We have a number of Advanced Aquaphobia Coaches who understand that everyone is on their own journey, therefore all sessions are tailored on a 1-2-1 basis and at the client’s own pace without any pressure to achieve to any specific timescale.

Sessions must be booked in advanced in blocks of 6 at a cost of £150 per block. Contact Eckington Reception for more information.

Aqua classes

Our Aquacise and Aquajog classes are bespoke classes designed to help you keep fit, but in a low impact, water filled environment!

Accessible Swimming

We have a range of accessible facilities in place to help everyone to experience the benefits of swimming. Our new swimming pool at Clay Cross Active has been designed with accessibility in mind including a Changing Places facility.

We also have a hoist available at Dronfield and Eckington Active.

Swimming Admissions Policy

We want you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable time when you visit us.

The purpose of the Child Admission Policy is to outline how we can work together to create the safest possible environment for you and your children. It has been developed in line with advice from national governing bodies such as Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), Swimming Teachers Association (STA) and the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).
