Terms & Conditions

The important information below relates to the gymnastics and trampolining lessons that we offer at our leisure sites. Please read these before starting your course.

1. All customers require a FREE ‘Just do more’ membership to join our gymnastic and trampolining programme.

2. All lessons must be paid for via Direct Debit which should be set up prior to the first lesson. The initial payment will include a pro-rata payment.

3. Once a Direct Debit has been set up, no refunds can be made unless absence is caused by a medical condition which must be confirmed by a doctor’s note.

4. Lessons are not transferable from one child to another unless authorised by an officer.

5. The Council reserves the right to cancel a lesson at any time.

6. Lessons can be frozen for complete months at a time. A doctors note or similar needs to be provided at the time of freezing. Medical exemptions only.

7. Where adverse weather results in the cancellation of lessons then a refund/credit will be applied to your next available direct debit. However, if the centre is open and the lessons go ahead then no refunds/credits will apply should you not attend.

8. The Council will use reasonable endeavours to provide the same instructor for each lesson. However, a relief instructor may be used without prior notification.

9. Each child must register with the instructor at the start of each lesson.

10. Registration and administration time is included in each lesson.

11. If a child has a medical condition, disability or any additional needs, this must be stated on the enrolment/registration form. Any changes to a child’s circumstances must be communicated to the leisure centre at the earliest opportunity to ensure that up-to-date records are maintained.

12. The use of camera or video photography or mobile phones is strictly prohibited at all times within the leisure centre, unless prior approval has been granted.

13. Ensure that you use the appropriate changing rooms to get changed.

14. For health and safety reasons long hair should be tied back and jewellery should not be worn during lessons.

15. All under 8’s should be accompanied by a responsible adult who must remain in the leisure centre for the duration of the lesson.

16. The Council will not under any circumstances, accept responsibility or liability in respect of any damage to or loss of any goods, articles or property of any kind brought into or left at the leisure centre.

17. Under normal circumstances, customers wanting to watch participating family or friends should do so from the designated viewing area without distracting the children or the instructor whilst the lesson is in progress.

19. Places will initially be allocated to those already on the lesson programme. To secure a place for the next stage on the allocated class, the customer must keep up to date with all Direct Debit payments and not be in arrears.

20. Class numbers are restricted and set by the Council to ensure a quality teaching environment and are based on British Gymnastic Code of Practice.

21. The Council reserves the right only to accept a child into a class being taught at the level appropriate to them.

22. The Council reserves the right to cancel a course and refuse to re-book a child onto a course if the child or their parent displays unacceptable or inappropriate behaviour, including failure to comply with these terms and conditions.

23. If a child or the parent of a child has chosen the wrong course for the ability of a child and an alternative class is offered and not accepted, a refund will not be given.

24. Gymnastic and trampolining ability and speed of progression will vary depending upon the child.

25. The lesson programme is typically a 47 week continuous programme with a two week break at Christmas, one week break at Easter and two week break throughout the summer holidays.

26. New children can join a course at any point subject to availability and child’s ability.

27. Children who have achieved all of the outcomes within their current stage will, subject to availability, be moved up to the next stage at any point throughout the course.

28. Badges and certificates awarded by the instructor can be purchased at reception.

29. Any missed Direct Debit payments must be paid within 14 days of the collection failing. If it is not paid, your child will be removed from lessons and their place may be taken. If a Direct Debit is cancelled at the bank, your child will be removed from the lessons immediately.

30. Please ensure you keep Reception updated with any changes to your Direct Debit details.

31. In order to cancel your lessons; please email your cancellation request to, Email: DD.cancellations@ne-derbyshire.gov.uk or cancel you Direct Debit at the bank. This will remove your child at the end of the month that has been paid for.

32. No make up lessons will be offered under any circumstances.

33. Using your personal information. Your personal information will be used to process your application for lessons membership and to contact you about this. We may also contact you by post or email occasionally to ask about the quality of our leisure service. If you have consented to receive other leisure information then we will process your personal information for that purpose too.
